Love is: having a little sister to hug
In very tough and often heartbreaking contexts, love and compassion for our fellow human beings is what keeps us going.
Love is also what allows mothers to walk vast distances to find treatment at a malnutrition clinic or fathers to search for a better source of water, or teenagers to leave home to find work in strange cities.
Love is what prompts a child to share his only bowl of food.
We have witnessed this love.
A deep love for our continent drives us to continue, even when roads are washed away or conflict erupts, even when it seems there is no hope.
Love is what keeps us here when others are running out.
Africa is home. We love this place and we love our people. We won’t stop working until everyone on our continent has the resources they need to thrive.

Love is community: In emergency situations or in times of need, it is family, friends and community members who arrive on the scene first. Most of our staff come from the communities we serve.
Love is partnership: Our work would not be possible without our donors, volunteers or community members. Together we are creating an Africa that thrives.
Love is listening: By listening to the priorities of our people, together we find solutions that lead to transformation
Love is devotion: We are in this for the long haul. Africa is our home and we are here to stay. We are here before others come, and we remain after they leave.
Love is dedication: We won’t stop working until everyone on our continent has the resources they need
